Facilities & Café

The Steaming Kettle Buffet, gift shop and museum at Ludborough Station.

Steaming Kettle Buffet

A volunteer serving a chocolate cake behind the counter of the Steaming Kettle Buffet

We are open on running days, so pop in and allow our friendly volunteers to serve you a refreshing cuppa and a slice of cake, or perhaps enjoy a bacon butty while you spend the day with us.

You will find us along the platform in a static coach, serving a selection of hot food, snacks and light refreshments. Bring yourself, family or friends, even your four-legged friends, as we have a dog-friendly area inside.

We do our best to cater for everyone. If you have any dietary requirements or allergies, please let us know well in advance of your visit and we will do our best to help.

Gift Shop

The gift shop at Ludborough Station, stocked with souvenirs, books and railway models

Looking for a souvenir after your visit to the only standard-gauge heritage steam railway in Lincolnshire? Pop into our gift shop and browse the merchandise and toys to take home as a reminder of your adventure.

We have a range of souvenirs from postcards to fridge magnets, or pick up a souvenir pen or pin badge.

Museum

‘The Railways of Louth’ — an exhibition by the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway Society

Attached to the gift shop is our small museum, displaying railway artefacts from the East Lincolnshire route between Boston and Grimsby — cast-iron notices, lamps, tickets and advertising signs, alongside exhibitions put together by the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway Society.

Admission is included with your visit. Please ask one of our volunteers on arrival.
